Local Government Litigation

Hunt County, Texas vs. Burns Architecture, Inc., et al.

  • Recovered $770,000 in a Hunt County Jail construction defect case pursuant to a Settlement Agreement with the architect.  

Hunt County, Texas vs. Frank W. Neal & Associates, et al.

  • ​Recovered $3,800,000 pursuant to a Settlement Agreement with eight defendants.  



L. Keith Sumrow vs. C. Scott Talley d/b/a Texas Golfer Media

  • Obtained a Judgment on behalf of client for $336,873.97 on claims of breach of contract and fraud.

Marvin Friddle vs. Valence Operating Company, Inc., et al.

  • Confidential settlement with Valence on terms favorable to client in action for fraud, fraud by nondisclosure, and third-party breach of fiduciary duty arising out of oil and gas lease transaction.  Action still pending against remaining parties for breach of fiduciary duty, conversion, and unjust enrichment. Defendants’ Summary Judgment was reversed and remanded on appeal. Friddle v. Fisher, 378 S.W.3d 475, (Tex. App.–Texarkana 2012, pet. denied).


Probate Litigation

In the Matter of the Guardianship of Doris Ruth Thomason; and two other related cases

  • Represented beneficiaries of a large family trust in breach of fiduciary duty action against trustee.  Confidential settlement on terms favorable to clients.

Estate of R.H. “Jack” Finney Jr., deceased

  • Obtained Judgment on behalf of devisee enforcing a $1,000,000 contractual bequest.
