Daniel W. Ray
Daniel Ray currently serves as the City Attorney for the City of Greenville and the Civil Attorney for Hunt County in addition to a thriving contracts, litigation and environmental law enforcement practice.
After working in large Dallas law firms for several years after law school, Daniel joined Bob Scott in 2007, where he immediately began working on some of the firm's largest cases, such as the litigation and rehabilitation efforts of Hunt County in response to the severe foundation problems on its $15,000,000 Justice Center.
At Scott, Ray & Sullivan, PLLC, Daniel has handled large construction cases, multi-million dollar family trust disputes, major breach of fiduciary duty cases, and complex environmental enforcement cases with the skill and expertise learned at large, Dallas law firms and attention to clients' individual needs that only a small firm can provide.
Before returning home to practice in Greenville, Daniel worked at Hartline, Dacus, Barger & Dreyer, LLP, where he defended manufacturers in products liability claims. He also worked at Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman and Dicker, LLP, defending European and American insurance companies and their clients in state and federal litigation in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
Daniel now represents numerous Texas government entities – including cities, counties, utility districts and others – in litigation, public records, and transactional services.
Daniel received his Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where he served as an Articles Editor for SMU Law Review Association. He received his bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne University.
